The first Asian forum for Deans of Journalism and communication opened on Nov. 30 in east China's Shanghai.

During the two-day forum, about 100 scholars and experts on journalism and communication from 22 Asian countries including China, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore are discussing how to strengthen the construction of one Asia community, as well as how to enhance cooperation among colleges of journalism and communication in Asia in the new media environment.

The forum has been sponsored by the Information Office of the State Council and organized by Shanghai International Studies University.
