'Experience China' goes to Mongolia

"Experience China" kicked off in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, on Aug. 18, 2016, and will be followed by a series of cultural activities in the Mongolian capital.

The event was jointly held by the State Council Information Office (SCIO) of China, the regional government of China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Chinese embassy in Mongolia and the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports.

Cui Yuying, vice head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the vice minister of the SCIO, said at the event's opening ceremony that "Experience China" came to Mongolia to implement the deal agreed upon by the presidents of the two countries, calling for a deepening of people-to-people exchange and cultural cooperation, so as to enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

Senior Mongolian government members echoed this sentiment positively, saying that the Mongolian people would show great interest in the upcoming activities, and believed there would be more and broader cultural cooperation in the future.

"Experience China" will showcase Chinese historical and cultural heritage along with China's contemporary development by means of a photo gallery, 3D-virtual experience, book exhibition, examples of calligraphy of the Mongolian language and on-the-spot interactionswithintangible cultural heritage. Through these activities, Mongolian people canget a bite of Chinese history and culture inwalking distance from their homes.

The activity will last until Aug. 30.
