Nearly 200 representatives of overseas Chinese in the Philippines showed up to see the Chinese fleet off. They waved both Chinese and Philippine national flags and sang "Ode to the Motherland."

The fleet arrived in Davao on April 30 afternoon. In the three-day visit, the Chinese Navy carried out a series of high-level talks and cultural exchanges with the Philippine Navy.

On May 1 afternoon, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte boarded and had a tour on the Changchun missile destroyer.

The navies of the two countries have enhanced their mutual understanding and mutual trust through this visit. It also laid a sound foundation for military cooperation between China and the Philippines.

The fleet is formed by three vessels – missile destroyer Changchun, missile frigate Jingzhou and supply ship Chaohu. It departed from Shanghai on April 23, the 68th anniversary of the founding day of the Chinese Navy, and plans to tour over 20 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania.
