Premier Li Keqiang met with German Vice-Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel in Beijing on Nov. 1.

Premier Li said Sino-Germany relations have maintained steady development, and both sides have stuck to the principles of mutual respect, equality and win-win results in pragmatic cooperation.

China and Germany have more shared interests than differences, and the two sides should expand common ground to promote stable and healthy bilateral relations, said the Premier.

Premier Li said that China and Germany should spare no efforts in promoting free trade and investment facilitation, sending out a clear anti-protectionism signal.

Premier Li expressed the hope that Germany will take an active role in urging EU to fulfill its obligation to drop the Surrogate Country approach in accordance with Article 15 of the Protocol on the Accession of China to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

He said China will open its door wider, and he welcomed Chinese and German enterprises to expand mutual investments.

Hailing the Germany-China ties and cooperation, Sigmar said he welcomed Chinese investment in his country.

He said Germany is ready to work with China to create a better investment environment for each other and send out a positive signal of stable development of Germany-China ties and EU-China ties.
