The CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Sept. 19 sent a congratulatory message to the Chinese delegation of the 15th Paralympics in Rio. The Chinese team has won 107 gold medals, 81 silver medals, and 51 bronze medals, breaking 51 world records, ranking first in terms of both the gold and overall medal count for four consecutive Paralympic Games.

Chinese athletes with disabilities vigorously carried forward the Olympic spirit and the Chinese sports spirit. Their performance has also showcased the tenacious and self-reliant spirit of disabled people in China, the message said.

In the message, the State Council also called for making efforts to stimulate disabled people's enthusiasm for exercise, promote the development of sports for the disabled, and contribute to the preparation of the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.
