In an instruction note, Premier Li Keqiang called on public institutions to keep promoting energy and resource conservation.

Premier Li praised the efforts of local governments and related departments in promoting energy and resources saving in recent years, which have led to significant results in lowering energy and resources consumption and improving efficiency.

The Premier urged public institutions, especially government branches, to firmly adhere to new development concepts, uphold the principle of resources saving and recycling, bring into full play their leading roles and take proactive measures to increase the overall efficiency in using energy and resources and make greater contributions to building an ecological civilization and a beautiful China during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.

State Councilor Yang Jing attended the energy and resource conservation meeting and said that efforts should be made to improve the efficiency of utilization of resources and energies, reduce the operation costs of public institutions, and promote the development of the energy saving and environmental protection industry.

Yang pointed out that during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, government agencies at all levels should take the lead in public institutions' efforts in energy and resources saving.
