Jiang Jianguo congratulates launch of Silk Road Outlook

Jiang Jianguo, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and minister of the State Council Information Office, congratulated the launch of the magazine Silk Road Outlook.

Silk Road Outlook is the first foreign-language magazine centered on the theme of the Belt and Road Initiative. It will be published in Russian and Kazakh by China Pictorial under the China International Publishing Group. Komsomolskaya Pravda Kazakhstan will be the print agent and distribute the magazine in the Central Asia region.

Jiang Jianguo sent his written congratulations at the launch ceremony of the magazine Silk Road Outlook held in Astana, Kazakhstan, on May 24. He said that Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed to build the "Silk Road Economic Belt" when he visited Kazakhstan in 2013, which drew wide support and positive responses from the countries in the region. Silk Road Outlook will record the vivid stories, touching details and remarkable moments of China's cooperation with Central Asian countries, in order to provide strong media support for China and Central Asian countries to achieve win-win results and mutual development.

Zeng Peiyan, former vice premier of China and vice chairman of the Boao Forum for Asia, Zhou Wenzhong, secretary-general of the Boao Forum for Asia, Zhang Hanhui, China's ambassador to Kazakhstan, Sergey Tereshchenko, former prime minister of Kazakhstan and more than 100 Chinese and foreign guests attended the launch ceremony.

A representative from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the magazine, which has abundant content and keeps up with times, is a testimony of the friendship between China and Kazakhstan and will promote the two peoples' communications and understanding.

Silk Road Outlook will focus on politics, diplomacy, finance, trade, science, technology, innovation, culture, life and surveys. It will all-dimensionally report and analyze the big news between China and Central Asia countries, and share, express and exchange information. It is understood that the Russian edition of Silk Road Outlook will distribute 10,000 copies per circulation of an issue in Central Asia. It also has a Kazakh edition for Kazakh readers.
