
The 4th Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Information plus three dialogue partners, China, Japan and Republic of Korea (10 plus 3), was held in Cebu in the Philippines on Mar. 17.
Guo Weimin, vice minister of the State Information Office and head of the Chinese delegation, attended the event.
Guo noted that China values friendly cooperative relations with neighboring countries, and “is committed to pursuing partnership with its neighbors and a kind of ‘neighborhood diplomacy’ of amity, sincerity, mutual-benefit and inclusiveness, as well as the fostering of a harmonious, secure and prosperous neighborhood.”
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the China-ASEAN dialogue relations which has witnessed many breakthroughs in expanding cooperation, regional stability and common development, the vice minister revealed.
He introduced China’s “Belt and Road” initiative, current economic situation and the country’s 13th Five-Year Plan, which, in his words, will contribute to building a community and shared future.
The event also published a joint media declaration after ministers listened to a brief plan for further cooperation of press circles between China and ASEAN countries.
