The Chinese President’s book, "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China," reflects a series of new concepts, guidelines and strategies on the country’s development after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and addresses the concerns of the international community over the country, said Guo Weimin, vice minister of the State Council Information Office (SCIO), in the Czech Republic on Mar. 21.
Guo made the remarks at a symposium for the book organized by the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, the country’s lower house, and the China International Publishing Group (CIPG).
"The book can facilitate the understanding of the international community with regard to China’s development as well as its domestic and foreign policies," said the vice minister, who views it as conducive to exchanging experiences among nations.
The book, compiled by the SCIO along with the CCCPC Party Literature Research Office and China International Publishing Group, is comprised of 79 speeches, talks, interviews, instructions and correspondence over 18 chapters. It has been made available in more than 100 countries and regions and its circulation has exceeded 5.4 million copies.
Guo hopes that the book's Czech edition will hit the market soon, as China's Foreign Language Press has agreed to work with a local publisher in translating and publishing the work.
Hailing traditional friendship and cooperation, the vice minister expects more interaction between the media circles, publishing groups and think tanks in the two countries.
